Our initiatives

IMYD is a global movement created by and for youth with disabilities. Our journey has just begun, but we are already making meaningful progress to unite and empower young leaders around the world.

What we’ve done so far

Launched IMYD on June 1, 2024

Our first international meeting in Paris brought together youth with disabilities from over 20 countries and four continents. This historic event set the foundation for a global movement.

Organized impactful workshops

During the launch, we held a dozen workshops and a round table discussion.
These sessions focused on leadership, advocacy, and strategies for creating change in our communities.

Built connections across regions

IMYD has begun creating a global network to ensure youth with disabilities from every region have a voice in shaping the future.

What we’re working on now

Co-creating our Charter of Values

IMYD members are actively collaborating to define the shared principles that will guide our movement.

Expanding our regional reach

We are working to strengthen representation from all five United Nations regional groups, ensuring inclusivity and diversity.

Preparing for democratic elections

We are setting the stage for the election of IMYD’s first Board of Directors, which will take place at the General Assembly in May/June 2025.
