International Network Meeting 2025

After our first General Assembly on June 1st, 2024, we are organizing a second event.

The event is called International Network Meeting 2025.

IMYD is organizing the event with 100% Handinamique.

The event will last three days.

It will take place in Lyon, France.

The event will happen from May 24th to May 26th, 2025.

The General Assembly will be online and in person.

You can apply until April 12th, 2025.

Program

Saturday, May 24th – General Assembly
The General Assembly is the most important meeting of IMYD.
Members will make decisions about IMYD.
You can join online or in person.
Sunday, May 25th – Workshops
Participants will share their ideas in workshops.
Workshops can be about many different topics.
For example:
Accessibility
Empowerment
Education
Policies
You can also propose your own topics.
Monday, May 26th – Cultural Visit
Participants will visit Lyon together.
We will learn about the city and its history.
It will be a fun and relaxing day.

Money & travel

Some participants can get financial support for travel.

We will pay for three nights of accommodation:

  • May 23rd
  • May 24th
  • May 25th

We prefer green travel to help the environment.

Who can apply?

You can apply if you are:

  • 18 to 35 years old
  • A young person with a disability
  • Active in an organization or interested in IMYD

  • Young people with disabilities aged 18 to 35 years old.
  • Ideally engaged in an NGO, advocacy, or youth organization.

  • Yes, limited travel funding is available for selected participants.
  • Reimbursements follow Erasmus+ travel rates (see below).
  • Priority is given to green travel (trains, buses) to reduce carbon emissions.

  • You must pay for your travel in advance and keep all invoices.
  • Reimbursement will be processed after the event.
  • You will need to submit proof of expenses (tickets, receipts, etc.).
  • Yes, personal assistants are welcome at the event.
  • The presence of a PA is not a selection criteria, meaning applications will not be prioritized or excluded based on whether a PA is required.
  • If your travel is financially supported, your PA can receive an additional 33% of your awarded amount.
  • Example: If you receive 1,000€ in financial support, your PA will receive an additional 333€ (total: 1,333€).
  • Yes, accommodation is fully covered for PAs.
  • PAs will stay in the same room as the participant they are assisting.
  • Single rooms will not be provided for PAs.
  • No, IMYD cannot cover PA service fees or salaries.
  • The financial support only covers travel and accommodation costs.
  • No, participants must declare their PA in their application.
  • Additional documents (e.g., medical certificate or declaration of need) may be required.
  • If you need a visa, you will receive an official invitation letter.
  • You must apply for the visa yourself at the French embassy in your country.
  • If your personal assistant also needs a visa, you must inform us in advance.
  • Accommodation will be provided in a youth hostel in shared rooms.
  • If you have specific accessibility needs, let us know in the application form.
  • Accommodation is only provided for three nights: May 23rd, 24th, and 25th.
  • If you stay longer, you must arrange and pay for your own accommodation.
  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included on Saturday and Sunday.
  • On Monday, only breakfast and lunch will be provided.
  • A small contribution (30€ lump sum) is required for food costs.
  • The event will be in English.
  • We may provide International Sign Language or ASL interpretation.
  • If you prefer to bring your own interpreter, they must apply as a personal assistant.
  • The best airports to arrive at are:
    • Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (LYS) – Direct connections to Lyon city center.
    • Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) – High-speed train (TGV) to Lyon.
  • More travel information will be shared in the event handbook.
  • No, participants are responsible for reaching the event location.
