Becoming a member of IMYD means joining an inclusive, international community committed to the rights and participation of young people with disabilities. Membership is designed to be accessible, fair, and adapted to different economic contexts, and it is valid for the calendar year.
Who Can Become a Member?
IMYD welcomes different types of members, depending on their profile and level of involvement.
Membership Categories
Young People with Disabilities
Young people with disabilities aged 18 to 35 can become members free of charge. This ensures that participation is never limited by financial barriers.
Representative Organizations of Young People with Disabilities
Legally recognized, youth-led organizations representing young people with disabilities may become members with full voting rights. A Membership Contribution is required for this category.
Allies
Allies are individuals or entities that support IMYD through moral or financial contributions. Their contribution is voluntary or symbolic, and participation is consultative only.
Honorary Members
Honorary membership is granted in recognition of exceptional service.
Honorary members do not pay membership fees and do not hold voting rights.
Membership Contributions
Membership contributions apply only to Representative Organizations of Young People with Disabilities. To guarantee fairness between countries, IMYD applies a transparent contribution system based on GDP per capita adjusted for Purchasing Power Parity (PPP), using data published by the World Bank.
This approach allows contributions to reflect the real economic capacity of each country, while ensuring that all member organizations enjoy equal rights and participation, regardless of their geographic location.
Calculator Fee
– France serves as the reference country, with a base contribution set at USD 330.
– For organizations based in other countries, the contribution is calculated proportionally according to the country’s GDP per capita (PPP) relative to France.
– The US Dollar is the official currency.
– Membership is valid for the calendar year.
